Vinyl Gatefold Sleeve
When one of the UK’s most critically acclaimed rappers released his most anticipated album, the vinyl packaging had to carry the same cultural weight.
The Job
6,000 gatefold sleeves at 630 × 630mm flat, plus 12,000 inner sleeves at 315 × 630mm all produced on reflective mirra board substrates that demand precise control at every stage.
Materials
Outer gatefold on 320gsm Cyber XL mirra board. Inner sleeves on 220gsm silver mirra board. Both finished with anti-scuff gloss lamination to protect the reflective surface throughout handling and retail.
Print & Finishing
Outside printed 4 colour with white double strike, essential for colour opacity and vibrancy on a reflective substrate. Anti-scuff gloss lamination applied before embossing to both front and back covers, with pressure carefully controlled to achieve clean definition without cracking the laminate or distorting the mirra finish.
Construction
Gatefold sleeves die-cut using a standing die and straight line glued, with adhesive application managed across the heavyweight board for square, stable results across the full run. Inner sleeves die-cut and glued on our MOLL gluer.
The Result
A vinyl package that combines mirra board, white double strike, embossing, and anti-scuff lamination into something that stands apart from any standard release – and earns its place on a wall as much as a shelf.
